Miles of white sand beach begin at the end of the road in Ma’alaea. Although oceanfront, rocky reefs discourage water entry from several of the condos, once the beach is underfoot, it can take you all the way to Kihei, approximately 4 miles away.

Ma’alaea Park is at the end of the road, where beach access begins. The park offers tables, shower, foot wash, BBQ’s & restroom. You could get really spoiled by the beach & swimming holes in Ma’alaea. Swimming & snorkeling are a favorite in the Bay, as is surfing when the wind is just right.

And let’s not forget those magnificent Humpback whales who grace us with their winter shows. The arrive on Maui each winter and can be seen from the beach between December and April every year. Mothers and their newborn calves like the calm shallows of Maalaea Bay. Also off shore you can encounter abundant reefs that are home to schools of tropical fish & sea turtles.

Ma'alaea is a real departure from the crowded beaches of Kihei & Ka’anapali.
